Rule #4. Choose The Right Bowling Ball Coverstock.
Surface of the bowling ball. The Bowling Ball Surface is an important factor because there are so many different types of bowling ball surfaces in today's game. A rule of thumb dull surface = smooth and control. Shinny surface = snappy or long and strong a dull bowling ball will be more consistent and a shinny bowling ball will be more erratic, but that is not always a bad thing. If your center has dry back ends, a shined pearl ball might work well. A little to much carry down and a smooth duller surface may do well.
